Ingredients for the recipe:
- 1 (5.5-6.5 kg.) Thawed and gutted turkey
- For lemon brine:
- 7.5 liters’ water
- 1 tbsp. Sahara
- 1 tbsp. coarse salt
- 2 lemons, cut into slices
- 4 leaves of laurel
- 3 cinnamon rolls
- A small handful of cloves
Recipe preparation:
Place all brine ingredients in a large container and mix thoroughly. Immerse the turkey in brine and put it in a cold place for 6-10 hours.
Preheat the oven to 180 ° C. Remove the turkey from the brine and place in a baking dish. Stuff the turkey with lemon slices taken from the brine, bay leaves, and cinnamon sticks.
Put the turkey in the bottom of the oven and bake for 3.5 hours, pouring turkey juice every 40 minutes. If the turkey burns, cover with foil. You can check the readiness of the turkey by piercing the thigh with a knife, the spilled juice should be transparent. Remove the turkey from the oven and place on a cutting board, leave for 20 minutes.
